A large concrete pour is scheduled for December 5th, weather permitting. The pour will be delayed if there is rain, snow, or any other weather that does not allow for concrete.
The purpose of this concrete pour is to form the staging slab along the west side of the site. This will require approximately 50 concrete trucks and a concrete pump positioned on Bantry Avenue. The pour will take approximately 12 hours to complete plus finishing activities.
The City of Toronto allows for extended working hours specifically for concrete pours due to the time sensitive nature of the work. We cannot stop the work once it begins, so it is likely that the work on December 5th will extend outside of normal working hours. We have accordingly applied for a noise exemption permit to facilitate the work.
The staging slab will be a critical milestone because once complete it will allow for improved truck circulation on our site by connecting Bantry Avenue to Montclair Avenue. Once the staging slab is active, it will reduce the instances of trucks reversing down Montclair/Bantry which benefits the site efficiency and reduces disturbances to the community.
